We’re thrilled to announce that Tokeo has officially completed Milestone 1 (M1) in the development of CardanoKit: a Swift-native library designed to make Cardano blockchain integration effortless for Apple developers. This marks a major step forward in our mission to bring Cardano’s powerful features to iOS, tvOS, and watchOS applications.

What is CardanoKit?

CardanoKit is an open-source, high-level API built for Swift. Its purpose is simple: empower developers to create next-generation apps, wallets, loyalty programs, games, analytics tools, and more by harnessing the security and capabilities of the Cardano blockchain. With CardanoKit, developers can focus on building great user experiences, while the library takes care of the blockchain complexities under the hood.

By providing a modern, developer-friendly interface, CardanoKit dramatically lowers the barrier to entry for blockchain development on Apple platforms. This opens the door to faster innovation, better apps, and new use cases across the entire Apple ecosystem.

How CardanoKit Works

CardanoKit is built on a robust, multi-layered architecture:

• Cardano Serialization Library (CSL): The Rust-based engine handling blockchain data and cryptography

• Foreign Function Interface (FFI): Bridges Rust and Swift, letting Swift tap into CSL’s power

• Swift C Translation Layer: Manages data conversion, error handling, and memory management for seamless Apple integration

• CardanoKit Abstraction Layer: A pure Swift layer that presents a clean, high-level API for developers

With this structure, developers can send ADA or custom tokens, mint assets, stake, and interact with DApps – all using intuitive Swift code.
